one plugless

My vaio and MacBook Pro, out-of-season mini fan, make-up bag + lid-less mirror, pile of CD waiting to be imported into my MacBook Pro, egg-shaped chapstick, dermatologist-prescribed med, junk of accessories + cords...my desk needs some clean up but it's interesting to see how this single picture describes everything about my life right now....minus the fan.

Talking about my mess, is it only me who still buy CDs? Being obsessed with designs and typography, I just love looking at CD jackets. They are so well-made and unique...I always want to know how designers come up with the designs. We often oversee these really small things in life that usually have deeper backgrounds than we tend to think of. When we say the CD jackets really portray the songs in the album, the process is often times the other way round - the designers listen to the songs and then crystalize it to one image. I think that is really fascinating...and that's why I love looking at records and CD jackets.

So yesterday my really close friend and I went shopping to Lala Port Yokohama. New Years sale is a huge deal in Japan (and a huge discount) so who really wants to miss out this opportunity? I ended up buying few winter staples from H&M...and talking about H&M, I bought two tops from H&M few weeks ago, so I will just compile everything right here.

I bought these tops during when xmas sale was on. Ever since then I've been wearing it almost everyday - which made me realize that I do not own that many clothes with colors or patterns. They are extremely useful when you have no time to think of your outfit...

The left one, I love it because of its asymmetrical hemline. I love asymmetrical things, or anything that looks a little "imperfect" so to speak. Probably my Japanese blood shouts for anything with heart of wabi-sabi...something that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.

Right one is nothing that I thought was planning to buy...it was something that I just threw into my shopping bag as I was about to enter a fitting room. Out of 4~5 items that I wore though, this one came threw the cashier. The short hemline actually is perfect for tacking into a denim shorts paired with black tights, heels and a nice long cardigan...and I love the pattern too.

These are what I bought yesterday at Lalaport Yokohama.

Left is a circle scarf that I've been wanting for a very long time. I remembered somebody somewhere told me that men's section is full of good stuff too so I went in and found this. I don't know if this scarf was actually meant for men's, but who really cares because I love it...Since when did I start falling in love with chunky, knitten stuff?

Right is a long cardigan (apparently it is made out of 50% organic cotton...). I used to own a short black cardigan also from H&M but it shrunk down thanks to the dryer in my uni...Taught me a lesson that I SHOULD NEVER use the dryer in my uni unless if I want to purposely shrink down my clothes (and I sometimes do...haha). So yes, I needed a nice comfy cardigan...such a basic of the basic but it's always nice to have some escape from the extraordinary...

I'm still saving up my new years money for another big shopping - Harajuku & Shibuya with my sister on the 7th! Apparently, new Forever 21 has opened in Shibuya just a couple of weeks ago and it is the biggest one in Asia. Haha, it's funny how I'm still willing to go to Forever 21 and other fast fashion brands even when I'm back home...But it is so cheap and cute. And who doesn't like that?
