neoliberalism

For my Literature Theory & Global Culture class, we read an introduction of the book called Brief History of Neoliberalism (and you know in college readings, when the title says "brief" something, it's usually not that brief, maybe about 500 pages long). In there, they said that neoliberalism cannot survive without nationalism, or a competition that precisely determines who's a winner and who's a loser.
This very much defines why I am crazy about Japan's active participation in Asian Cup 2011!
Believe it or not, I am a terrible terrible soccer player, but I absolutely LOVE watching soccer games. Usually I'm the type of person who loves to play sports instead of watch sports, but only for soccer and basketball I just stick with being a noisy cheerleader.
So Japan is playing against Australia in the finals on the 29th! Japan in the FINALS? I am shocked. Since when did they become so good at soccer? I know Asian Cup is not the bestest league or championship in the world, but even so at this global stage, Japan is doing very very good.
Wow I just sounded like a complete patriot right there. But I am not. Just for a reference, I can be the best at debating for both why Japan is awesome and why it it's not.

Anyway, so let's see what's going to happen in the finals...!
